While it's hard to find a conflict that has ever been successfully resolved by the United Nations, the Middle-East has to be near the top of its list of failures. In fact, one could argue that the unresolved conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors is example number one of the uselessness of the UN.
This discussion could easily turn into an essay detailing the UN's history of failure after failure, but that dreary task would fill volumes. Instead of detailing what a waste of resources the United Nations represents, it's more fruitful to examine its latest effort to inject itself into the Israeli-Arab conflict.
