India Official Denounces Climate Change As ‘Carbon Imperialism’

When Kerry singled out India as a “challenge,” his insult was met with an appropriate mix of anger, frustration and incredulity.

“Kerry’s comment is unwarranted and unfair. The attitude of some of the developed countries is the challenge for the Paris conclusion,” said Prakash Javadekar, India’s environment minister, The Telegraph reported. He added that his country is “not in the habit of taking any pressure from anybody.”

“This smacks of a ‘carbon imperialism’,” Arvind Subramanian, the Indian government’s chief economic advisor, also noted. “And such imperialism on the part of advanced nations could spell disaster for India and other developing countries.”

It seems the ivory towers of white-faced Starbucks customers dictating green policy to rest of world is not an attractive scenario. One would think that a plan was discussed at some time regarding the handling of this message. I guess telling poorer nations to stay in the dirt sounds better behind closed doors in Washington D.C. than on the world stage where they can answer you back.

Perhaps Arvind was listening when Christiana Figueres, the executive secretary for the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted during a news conference that the real goal of all the climate change propaganda is to kill off capitalism.
