Islam is not the only religion that has had, and still has, its share of fanatics. There will always be those who will take the teachings of a religion or ideology to an extreme, or otherwise pervert the teachings to serve a selfish or even violent purposes. None of that serves as a benefit to humanity.
All of that said, the virulent strains of militant Islam represented by groups such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS are a menace to the world. Since this writer is neither a Muslim, nor a student of Islam, a discussion of how the beliefs and actions of such groups comport with the teachings of the Quran must be left to those who, unlike me, are qualified to make such comments.
What we can do is examine the actions and words of those who so purport to speak for Islam — something we’ll do on page two.

Faye Rushing Nope America does not. So what makes you think he is not still a democrat, only playing the part of a republican? Some people I’ve spoken to have lagitimate concerns with his being President…..far from phoney. In order for that statement to be true, you would have to first understand the why (against) then being evidence to support it’s being false. It amazes me how so many perceive their idea or perception of reality is the only truth. That in itself would be false.
I have Muslim friends. Great people. Now my observation on this religious argument is this: There is a Jewish sect who’s members have great power. Their enemies have been Muslim and Christian for centuries. Sooooo you get your enemies to hate and go after eachother, they can sit back and watch their enemies destroy each other and never become involved. If true, it’s a very effective strategy. We all need to read between the lines.
