FBI asks Law Enforcement to Deny Records Requests Regarding Orlando Shooting

Federal agencies of all stripes are becoming more dictatorial and authoritarian under this administration, often attempting to override state laws. The recent murder of 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida is a case in point. The FBI sought to control the release of records to the media from local law enforcement and city units in order to control the message.

It will be remembered that the State Department initially released a transcript of the 911 call from Islamic terrorist Omar Mateen during his murderous rampage, declaring his allegiance to an Islamic Imam and praising Allah. The transcript excised all mention of Islam and changed references of “Allah” to “God” in an attempt to distance the massacre from the religion of peace. Only after a public outcry did the Justice Department release a more complete rendition, though even then it was not a word for word version. The attempt by the FBI and the Justice Department is absolutely Orwellian in its desire to smother the event and its meaning.
