FBI Alert: Middle-Eastern Males Are Harassing Family Members Of Military Personnel Outside Their Homes

Last month, a Washington National Guard & Military Dept. Force Protection Advisory cited a report from a Washington Air Guard Member who claims to have been approached near his apartment by a Middle-Eastern male questioning him about his participation in the Air Force:

Last month we had a report from a Washington Air Guard Member who reported being approached on the playground near their apartment by a middle-eastern male, asking about participation in the Air Force, and their job with the military. This was after the Airmen had stopped wearing the uniform, as per the WMD/NGWA FPCON requirements.

The Airmen explained that the questions were very probing and concerning, but when they asked the male questions, he immediately tried to end the conversation, not providing any specific information.

This incident local has been reported to military channels on JBLM, local law enforcement and the Washington State Fusion Center. It is important that we encourage our personnel to report these incidents, so that we can ensure that we and our partners understand the broader impact of possible solicitation, encounters, suspicious vehicles and or incident to our personnel or facilities.

Last December, the FBI issued a stern warning that ISIS is seeking followers in the U.S. who are “willing and capable of conducting attacks against current and former US-based members of the United States military.”

Last March, the ‘Islamic State Hacking Division’ released a list of 100 military personnel – calling upon their supporters to ‘kill them wherever you find them.’ This list was obtained by hacking into military emails, servers and databases.

Here’s the FBI Activity Alert, obtained by the veterans advocacy group, O.A.S.I.S.:

FBI MiddleEasternMales

In May 2015, the wife of a US military member was approached in front of her home by two Middle-Eastern males. The men stated that she was the wife of a US interrogator. When she denied their claims, the men laughed. The two men left the area in a dark-colored, four-door sedan with two other Middle-Eastern males in the vehicle. The woman had observed the vehicle in the neighborhood on previous occasions.
