Democratic Lawmakers Move To Rename State Park Donated By Trump

Not satisfied with changing the name of a closed park because it honors a candidate who they find distasteful, the lawmakers are also attempting to get signs in Westchester and Putnam counties referencing the name removed.

Naturally, the Trump campaign is outraged by the move. Not only is the move unnecessary, but it is totally vindictive as the name remained in place for at least five years before Senator Sqaudron and Assemblyman Lavine suddenly decided it was in the public interest to purge the state of it.

“The move comes after Trump proposed banning Muslim immigrants from the U.S.

Squadron and Lavine say Trump is unworthy of having a state park named for him.

Trump donated the land to the state in 2006 after plans to build a golf course fell through. The park was closed in 2010.

Trump’s spokeswoman says Trump is a proud New Yorker and that the state cannot remove the name.”
