Legislation was filed on Tuesday, by lawmakers in both houses of Congress, that would formally declare the Muslim Brotherhood a sanctioned terrorist organization. The legislation details the Brotherhood’s long history of sponsoring terrorism both in the United States and abroad.
It also acts as a double-edged sword against the left. Should the bill be passed, it would require Secretary of State John kerry to explain why the Obama Administration has always been hesitant to label the Brotherhood a terrorist organization, and if it doesn’t get passed, the State Department will have to detail what criteria the Brotherhood did and didn’t meet in order to justify it.
