Trump has hurt the feelings of CAIR for stating in an interview that he “thinks Islam hates us” and they are demanding an apology.
CAIR official Nihad Awad said there are “extremist elites” who say statements that are “bigoted like Donald Trump.” He added, “They may assume the highest office of the land,” saying that’s “dangerous.”
CAIR’s press release also argues the “Islamophobic rhetoric” from Trump and other Republican officials “is to blame at least in part for the recent unprecedented spike in anti-Muslim hate incidents nationwide.”
CAIR held the press conference after Trump said, “I think Islam hates us,” during an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
“We have to get to the bottom of it,” Trump stated. “There is an unbelievable hatred of us — anybody.”
If CAIR and American Muslim Alliance is not going to speak out against the radicalization of Islam and the crimes against Christians in the name of Islam, then Trump will. If they don’t like it, then they need to turn off their televisions and radios, because he is most certainly not going to say he is sorry.
