While the arson is no doubt extreme, the careless dismissal of citizens’ concerns on the part of European governments is just not — if not more troubling. Not only does it potentially facilitate the housing of radical Islamic terrorists within western borders, but it sets a precedence among governments that it is simply okay to ignore those that they are intended to represent and protect.
