Feinstein pounces on Navy Yard shooting to call for new gun control laws

United States Senator Dianne Feinstein renewed her strident call to disarm citizens Monday, following the Navy Yard shooting in Washington, D.C.. The California Democrat said, “This is one more event to add to the litany of massacres that occur when a deranged person or grievance killer is able to obtain multiple weapons — including a military-style assault rifle — and kill many people in a short amount of time.”

Feinstein was not alone in seizing the terrible event for political purposes. As we saw yesterday, Henry Winkler and others also used the shooting as a chance to grand-stand.

In 1995, Feinstein lamented the failure of an earlier effort to take out the Second Amendment. “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them,” she told 60 Minutes. “Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in, I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren’t here.”

Feinstein is not content to trample freedom of the press, she also wants to destroy the second amendment. To her, the Navy Yard tragedy is just another chance to push her agenda. She wants to eliminate constitutional freedoms for Americans, one by one.

Naturally, those rules wouldn’t apply to Senator Feinstein, who once had a concealed carry permit. In the video below she attempts to explain why her ability to protect herself with a firearm is more important than yours:
