“Calm Before the Storm” May Have Been Tip of the Hand as Russian Leader Confirms New Launch in North Korea

The American Left has completely come unhinged after the president made a somewhat cryptic remark at the White House gathering of his military leaders and their wives.  The statement came during the photo-op and has now filled countless headlines and pages in every major network and newspaper where the FNIC is pulling out its hair in an effort to decipher its meaning.

The now-infamous “calm before the storm” remark is presumed to refer to North Korea, but no one was sure.  In re-watching the photo-op and the president’s off-hand comments, it actually appears to just be playful banter (very common parlance in New York City, northern New Jersey and Boston).  But when paired with a whole room (presumably) of Leftist reporters and photographers, it is a recipe for disaster.

To give you an example of the heart palpitations by the press over this jesting, Jim Acosta of CNN during the press conference with Sanders Huckabee asked this very revealing question about CNN’s deeper motives:

“When people are…when they sort of catch their breath in this town, when the sort of hold their breath in this town when he says something like that [pause] you have a smile on your face.  Is that…somewhat satisfying?”

Sanders fired right back, cutting off the Leftist useful idiot from following up with another asinine question.

“No, I just picture people in this town actually holding their breath.  That might be a welcome surprise for most of America.”  Then she gestured at another reporter, leaving him in his self-ingratiating dust.

In the midst of this furor over a simple few words that President Trump uttered in good company and for more than 25 minutes, the press asked one (and I do mean exactly ONE) question regarding the Las Vegas shooting.  Of course it regarded gun control, but isn’t it interesting how these things go?  A Christian Conservative shooter would have had the press disregarding this “calm before the storm” story and completely inundating poor Sanders Huckabee with a deluge of questions regarding why Christians are so violent.  In the aftermath of the shooting, however, since the shooter has been discovered to have been a rabid, deranged, Trump-hating Leftist maniac, the story is no longer relevant a scant few days after the worst mass shooting in US history!

Anton Morozov, a member of the Russian lower house of parliament’s international affairs committee, and two other Russian unnamed lawmakers, returned to their home after visiting North Korea.  The visit lasted from the 2nd to the 6th of October (according to Russia’s RIA News Agency) and was an effort on behalf of the Russian people to convince Pyongyang to stop the escalation of their “bellicose rhetoric” and begin toning down their missile testing activities.

In response, Morozov reported that the North Korea, Kim Jong-un, has absolutely no intentions of ramping down his words or policies in reference to their defense.

“They are preparing for new tests of a long-range missile. They even gave us mathematical calculations that they believe prove that their missile can hit the west coast of the United States,” RIA quoted Morozov as saying.

“As far as we understand, they intend to launch one more long-range missile in the near future. And in general, their mood is rather belligerent.”

Morozov’s comments drove up the price of U.S. Treasury bonds, as investors, worried about the prospect of new North Korean missile tests, moved into assets the market views as a safe haven in times of uncertainty.

A question was also asked in the press conference with Sanders Huckabee regarding the reactions of the market after the president’s comments were made, insinuating that Trump purposefully made the remarks with the INTENTION of building confidence and sparking movement to US Treasury bonds.  The White House spokeswoman skillfully, professionally and unabashedly maneuvered around that potential train wreck and moved the press event along without incident.

In Washington, a U.S. official said that there had been indications that North Korea could be preparing for a missile test on or around Oct. 10, the anniversary of the founding of the ruling Korean Workers Party and a day after the Columbus Day holiday in the United States.

“There is a clarity of purpose in what (North Korean leader) Kim Jong Un is doing. I don’t think he’s done,“ said Yong Suk Lee, the deputy assistant director of the CIA’s Korea Mission Center, which was set up this year. ”In fact, I told my own staff (that) October 10th is the Korean Workers Party founding day. That’s Tuesday in North Korea, but Monday – the Columbus Day holiday – in the United States. So stand by your phones.”

I like that the CIA is hiring people who are deliberately dedicated to the nation in question, getting back to a set of policies designed to focus on the culture and mindset of the studied country and its leaders.  The Obama regime was famously opposed to “getting familiar with leaders” of friendly nations for which he had no particular liking and which he considered to be oppressive and non-Regressive.

Describing meetings with North Korean officials, Morozov said they “displayed serious determination and bellicose rhetoric,” RIA reported.

“The situation, of course, demands the swiftest intervention of all interested states, particularly those represented in the region, in order to prevent wide-scale military action,” the agency quoted him as saying.

Putin has said that Pyongyang will not be cowed into giving up its weapons program. He has accused Washington of trying to effect regime change in North Korea, and predicted that would unleash chaos.

Morozov is famously low-key and determined to get North Korea to see reason.  With the utter failure of China’s leadership to influence Pyongyang in a positive direction, it’s now up to the single nation in the world that has even a modicum of clout with the North Koreans.  It may be a mission that’s completely useless and we may indeed be on a collision course with Kim Jong-un’s oppressive dictatorship.
