WW3: US To Take ‘Direct Action On The Ground’ in Syria

From reports:

Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said Tuesday that the U.S. will begin “direct action on the ground” against ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria, aiming to intensify pressure on the militants as progress against them remains elusive.

“We won’t hold back from supporting capable partners in opportunistic attacks against ISIL, or conducting such missions directly whether by strikes from the air or direct action on the ground,” Carter said in testimony before the Senate Armed Services committee, using an alternative name for the militant group.

Carter pointed to last week’s rescue operation with Kurdish forces in northern Iraq to free hostages held by ISIS.

Carter and Pentagon officials initially refused to characterize the rescue operation as U.S. boots on the ground. However, Carter said last week that the military expects “more raids of this kind” and that the rescue mission “represents a continuation of our advise and assist mission.”

Senator Lindsay Graham, stated in a Senate Armed services committee:

U.S. effort in Syria is a “half-assed strategy at best,” and said that the U.S. is not doing a “damn thing” to bring down Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime.

This is how it starts.  A spark in a region that is poised with super powers with interests diametrically opposed.  Its a juggernaut in Syria, one of the most under reported story at this time.

As Americans go blindly on their way, thinking nothing can ever touch those of the US, Russia and the US are on a collision course.  The question must be asked-when weighing the odds of a probable clash, why would the Obama regime set the US on this path?  Either Obama is so arrogant, that when he uttered the words time and again, “Assad will be removed”, his arrogance and legacy is blinding him.  That no official over at the White House is not opposing this, tells the story of how infected the regime has become.

If it’s not arrogance, then it’s stupidity. No one needs a degree in foreign policy and politics to foresee the issues.  Russia will support Assad, knowing that, is it worth the US in close proximity to chance an encounter that will lead to a war only science fiction writers can imagine.

We stand at the precipice of what could be World War III.  Let us take heed and pray these things do not come to pass.
