World War 2 Vet Engages In Civil Disobedience To Feed Homeless


Mayor Jack Seiler has stated that Abbott and anyone else in his organization would be arrested if they continued trying to feed homeless people, asserting, “We enforce the laws here in Ft Lauderdale.”

Abbott won a lawsuit back in 1999 where he defeated a ban on feeding the hungry on the beach and states he is prepared to be arrested again.

“I fully believe that I am my brother’s keeper. Love they neighbor as thy self,” Abbott stated to CNN. “These are the poorest of the poor, they have nothing, they don’t even have a roof over their head, and who could turn them away?”
