While politicizing the San Bernardino shooting is par for the course for the Obama administration, White House Press Secretary Joshua Earnest admitted that an executive action to ensure background checks on all gun sales would “of course not” have prevented the shooting.
Which is at least true. Many of the most infamous mass shooters obtained their guns legally, submitting to background checks in many instances.
So why would Barack Obama want background checks to be mandatory for gun purchases when it is self evident that background checks would do nothing to prevent further shootings?
One plausible reason is that an executive order to mandate background checks would help open the door to further restrictions on gun sales Or maybe this is a ploy to shore up hard Left voters for the upcoming Presidential election. In any case, a useless executive order benefits no one except Barack Obama.

No it is not there are too many members of Congress that are terrified of the NRA there are so many members of Congress that agree with the NRA the NRA is so strong because so many Americans agree with the NRA.
A recent Congressional investigation revealed that 72 employees of the Department of Homeland Security appeared on the terrorist watch list. A recent audit of TSA security procedures at multiple airports resulted in a 95% fail rate. Maybe the President ought to get his own house in order before he further restricts law-abiding citizens.
As if that’s going to make people safer. All gun control does is create more victims.
