A writer at the Washington Post has a proposition to heal the racial divide: give blacks reparations in the form of having their vote count more than whites.
Theodore R. Johnson, current Ph.D candidate in law and policy at Northeastern University, believes the racial divide will not resolve until some form reparations are made.

Pure democracy is a suicidal drain. There are always more poor people than wealthy. The poor soon figure out by numbers alone they can vote money earned by the wealthy into their own pockets. The wealthy, who pay for everything, then find themselves forever without political power. That’s why the representative, Republican form of government has proven itself more stable.
