Veteran Takes At Least Five Bullets Bull-Rushing Oregon Shooter To Save Fellow Students

‘I was told he went after the shooter. There was no way he was going to stand around and watch something this horrific happen.’
Although shot multiple times, no vital organs were hit, he is expected to recover after spending most of Thursday in surgery.
According to his family, both of his legs are broken and he will have to learn to walk again.

‘He was on the wrestling team and he’s done cage-fighting so it does not surprise me that he would act heroically.’

Mintz, originally from Randleman, North Carolina, served 10 years in the Army and had just recently started college, his aunt said.

Bourgeois said he and Mintz had joined the Army together after graduating high school. Bourgeois was stationed in Fort Bragg in North Carolina while his cousin was sent to Fort Lewis in Washington.

After getting out of the Army, Bourgeois said his cousin began cage-fighting, but was working at an YMCA while he enrolled at the community college in Roseburg with the goal of becoming a fitness coach when he left. That fitness training will be vital now that he must recover from seven wounds and two broken legs.

The family has set up a Go Fund Me page to help with his medical costs, citing that they needed $10,000. As of this writing, 15 hours after the page was set up, the amount given to the veteran was $510,647 by 15,813.

So this vet completely puts his life out there by continuously charging this gunman as his body keeps taking bullets and winds up in the hospital needing $10,000, but his American brothers and sisters send him well over $500,000 and who knows how much more to come.

THIS is America. Not their government, not the propaganda machine that constantly tells us how bad everyone and everything is so that they may take control of us. Nor are we the more troubled elements of our society – that’s a minoroty.

No, this man and the strangers who did all they could to support his special type of valor and values is what America is about.

Remember, if things get much, much worse like many feel it will…that this quality should never be lost or we have lost who we are and nothing is worth more.
