A psychiatrist that works for the VA has recently come under fire for an exchange he had with a veteran on Facebook. The discussion was centered around gun control and evidently the psychiatrist didn’t like the fact that the veteran’s pro-gun stance.
The veteran wrote, “If there is a gun in the room, I want to be in control of it.”

The VA needs to be deleted!
I read an article once in the 80’s that mental health care professionals have a higher rate of suicide – then any other profession. In my opinion – many get involved in the field to figure themselves out and/or a family member. I have no faith in this pseudo science. Look at all the people on drugs and diagnosed as bi-polar or kids on Ritalin.

I have dealt with the VA for several year and though they wave provided me help they have also twisted my life into shambles by over medicating , stalling and down playing serious medical complication. There are some very competent staff and then there’s ones that are just out for a pay check. It is nearly impossible to find someone to advocate your needs . I have noticed and been the victim of unethical medical and physco logical neglect and out right abuse. Finically I’ve involved a lawyer and wish it never had come to this. The whole system needs revamped. So to all my VET brothers and sisters hang in there and don’t take know or we can’t do anything for as an acceptable answer.
