When I think of God and Jesus, I think of love. And every Catholic I know, including the priests and the nuns and the Pope embrace Protestants as our brothers and sisters in Christ. Yet many, not all, Protestants as seen here are down right hateful and vitriolic towards Catholics, calling us names and stating falsities about our religion which are simply not true (1- we do not bow down before idols 2- we pray ONLY to God, but just as Protestants, we do ask others to pray for us on our behalf).
I understand recently the Pope has seemed to say some things that don’t sound right. That concerned me too. But I don’t take medias biased coverage for gospel. I read transcripts of exactly what he said.
As for this thread, I know I’ll never change your minds, and I can tell you I am thoroughly steeped in the Bible. I’ve been a lay minister in the Wesleyan church, taught Sunday School, home schooled my kids for two years and they both then went to private Christian schools. I’ve been a church worship leader, volunteered at the local crisis pregnancy center, and protest at abortion clinics. I know my Bible and I know my God. We are ALL Christians. When we don’t act like it the only one that wins is Satan.
