It was only last February that NBC News suspended — and ultimately fired — anchor and reporter Brian Williams after the 22-year NBC vet was caught in multiple lies about his experience in the field. The story first came to light when several members of the Armed Forces came forward to dispute Williams’ report that his helicopter came under rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) fire while serving as NBC’s war correspondent in Iraq.
Williams subsequently recanted the story, but several other stories soon emerged. Ultimately, Williams’ credibility was simply too damaged for him to report for any reputable media outlet and he now serves as a breaking news and election anchor for MSNBC.
