In a fitting topic for the income tax filing deadline, Tucker Carlson roasted a California politics professor on Tucker Carlson Tonight last evening for claiming wealthy Americans are not paying their “fair share” in income taxes.
Caroline Heldman, an assistant professor of politics at Occidental College in Los Angeles, argued for radically hiking taxes on taxpayers in the top one percent of income, those earning $470,000 and higher.
She based her argument in part on the fact that wealthy individuals paid as much as 90 percent in taxes during the presidencies of Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy.
Find out how Carlson countered her argument and revealed her for the socialist ideologue she is on the next page.
My question to her would be How do you assume that the wealthy aren’t giving 10% to their churches or to their Police Departments or to Eounded Warriors or to Habitat for Humanity or to homeless shelters or to parks for kids in low income areas, or heaven forbid, just see or hear of someone down on their luck and changes their life. No tax write off. Just the gratitude that comes from being blessed.
That’s the problem! She views the rich as greedy and evil. It’s about punishing those people.
For a Tax Professor to not know that the top 10% of our country’s social economic status contributes 90% to churches and charities is kind of scary! They have more so they can naturally give more, but the point is it reveals the hearts of the rich.
Just like she gives to her charity of planned parenthood and that makes her feel good enough about herself that she should only pay 30% in taxes then, by gosh, it’s good enough for those who have worked hard in life, took risks, and gained wealth. We all get to choose the charity of our choice. Godspeed to them! They are a benevolent group!
Typical socialist….arrogant and no common sense. Do as I say not as I do mentality…ugh
Because it feeds into the narrative they agree with. And for no other reason.
I think she needs to do what she knows best SUCKLING $#%&!@*SORRY$#%&!@*since she plays with the dogs and there rompers and manpons and buns
This is a topic that should receive much more discussion. I am an Independent voter, so I see both sides and agree or disagree with both on many points. I am not rich, nor have I ever received government assistance; but I am part of America’s “hollowed out” and angry working middle class who has been the most impacted by our government catering to both extremes of the economic spectrum and who elected President Trump to help “the forgotten middle class.” Trickle down economics doesn’t work since the “owner” of the spigot controls how much they allow to flow or keep and they keep as much as possible and are doing extremely well financially. The middle class has been the segment most impacted by their stagnant income over several decades. Welfare, food stamps should be a temporary help, not a lifetime of monthly income. Becoming a “human breeder” is not a legitimate job. If baby’s daddy’s want to “play” then they need to “pay”.
I love Tucker!
She is a idiot! Never had a job from a poor man!
What a cook!
Remember when “Professors” used to be considered intelligent?
