Sadiq Khan, the 1st Muslim mayor of London feels the city directly proofs President Trump and his supporters are dangerously wrong about radical Islamic terrorism and Muslim migrants. Just last September, Khan shared that terrorism was “part and parcel of living in a big city” and not connected to radical Muslims or migrants.
His response to the attack on Saturday has done little to reassure Londoners upset with his nonchalant attitude towards terrorism.
“Londoners should be aware that there will be additional armed and unarmed police officers on our streets from tonight in order to keep Londoners, and all those visiting out city safe,” he said.
“I want to reassure all Londoners, and all our visitors, not to be alarmed. Our city remains one of the safest in the world,” he said.
Of course, terror attacks are increasing and extra unarmed law enforcement will be patrolling to protect against these threats. Who isn’t comforted? Who refuses to accept this is the best London can do to protect their citizens from radical Muslim terrorists? President Donald Trump.
President Trump, who said earlier Sunday on Twitter that “we must stop being politically correct and get down to the business of security for our people,” attacked Khan for telling people not to be alarmed in the wake a major terror attack on the city, the third attack in the UK in just a few months.
