Trump Orders Nuclear-armed Bombers Back on 24-hour Ready Alert

With a seeming understanding of what it means to be a war-time president, Donald Trump has adopted a tough stance in the style of Ronald Reagan and has shown that he will not be cowed by either the Leftists, his own party’s Establishmentariat, our enemies, the Fake News Industrial Complex, or the corrupted intelligence community.  There is simply too much at stake and if we are to rise to the occasion and appear strong, rather than just talk strong, we need to make a few changes.

President Trump has announced an amendment to an order that was made by George W. Bush just following 9/11 that will lift a restriction on the US Air Force that enables them to call up only 25 retired pilots.  This amendment would allow 1,000 retired pilots to be reactivated to fill a large shortfall of pilots.

A spokesperson for the US Air Force said that the service was short by 1,555 pilots, over 1,200 of whom were specifically fighter pilots.  This order will go a long way toward attaining this new goal of a war-ready air force.

A Pentagon spokesman, Navy Cmdr. Gary Ross, said in a statement that the Air Force is currently “short approximately 1,500 pilots of its requirements.”

“We anticipate that the Secretary of Defense will delegate the authority to the Secretary of the Air Force to recall up to 1,000 retired pilots for up to 3 years,” Ross said. “The pilot supply shortage is a national level challenge that could have adverse effects on all aspects of both the government and commercial aviation sectors for years to come.”

In August, Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson confirmed that the service was short 1,555 pilots of its requirements, including 1,211 fighter pilots.

“The Air Force does not currently intend to recall retired pilots to address the pilot shortage. We appreciate the authorities and flexibility delegated to us,” Ann Stefanek, an Air Force spokeswoman, told Fox News.

At the time, Wilson announced the Air Force was increasing incentive pay to officers and enlisted crew members for the first time in 18 years.

The service also expanded its aviation bonus program to apply to include pilots who were out of contract.

This new amendment was prompted by the ASEAN meeting in Manila, but was also prompted by the need to do something else:  Man a force of B-52 Bombers large enough to carry out operations that would deliver munitions that have not been delivered since the 1940s…nuclear bombs!
