Trump Mocks Bush For Going To ‘Mommy and Daddy’ To Bolster Limp Campaign

While Trump is self-funding his campaign, Bush continues to raise money, a projected seven percent of which has come from small donors. If the polls are any indication, it’s going to take a lot more than sizable donations to save Bush’s sinking ship. As always, Donald Trump had something to say about his opponent.

“Bush has no money. He’s meeting today with Mommy and Daddy, and they’re working on his campaign. He’s a guy [who] wants to run our country and he can’t even run his own campaign. Think of it,” Trump said at a Jacksonville, Florida, rally, according to The Hill. “You have all these people, what do you need these people for?” he said. “I put up less money than everyone else, and I’m number one.”

Trump leads in Florida with 22 percent support, while the Sunshine State’s former governor comes in fourth with only nine percent.

As of this week, Trump is leading the polls at 32 percent while 40 percent of respondents from an ABC News/Washington Post poll expected him to clinch the party’s nomination. At this point it’s too soon for anybody to claim victory, but the evidence is clear that Jeb Bush is going to need to gain some serious momentum if he doesn’t want fade from the race completely.
