Trump Immediately Makes Himself at Home, Remodels Oval Office with Gold Drapes and More

It’s clear that Donald Trump has a affection for the color gold, not to mention the metal itself. Not only his private jet, but also his opulent residence in New York City displays gold everywhere you look.

So, if he’s going to live at the White House, some redecorating is in order. Actually, the redecorating of the Oval Office is commonplace — every president has it redone to his preferences. Needless to say, Mr. Obama’s crimson drapes had to be replaced with — you guessed it, gold.

The Oval Office was redecorated for President Trump and now features gold drapes, replacing crimson cloth behind the Resolute Desk under Barack Obama.

The change was first spotted as Trump signed an executive order on ObamaCare and other memos as president on Friday evening.

CNN anchor Erin Burnett reported that the couches in the Oval Office had also been replaced.

Trump is known for enjoying gold accents and features in interior decorating. Journalists have noted that his office and home at Trump Tower heavily feature gold.

Well, if Mr. Trump is going to move from his Manhattan mansion to the White House, perhaps one should not be surprised that he’s going to make at least the Oval Office look a little like home.

Trump also return the bust of Winston Churchill, which Obama had removed:

President Trump has returned a bust of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill to the Oval Office, which had been removed by his predecessor in 2009.

Reporters first noticed that the bust had been placed back in the room on Friday, just as Trump was signing a series of executive orders at the Resolute desk.

Obama had moved the bust to the White House residence during his first few days in office and later installed separate busts of Martin Luther King Jr. and President Lincoln in its place.

A spokesperson for British Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed last week that Trump had personally asked if England would loan the bust of Churchill to the U.S. once he took office.
