Trump Calls Out Hillary for Record as Secretary of State

Trump quickly cited many of the failures Clinton had as Secretary of State and questioned her credentials to lead. given her many failures and poor judgement;

“She is the one that caused all this problem with her stupid policies. You look at what she did with Libya, what she did with Syria. Look at Egypt, what happened with Egypt, a total mess,” Trump said.

“She was truly—if not the—one of the worst secretaries of state in the history of the country,” he added. “She talks about me being dangerous. She’s killed hundreds of thousands of people with her stupidity.”

Trump made his remarks in response to Clinton’s comment he “has gone way over the line” by saying there should be a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States. She said his suggestion “plays right into the hands of terrorists.”

Donald Trump’s accusation certainly rings true. In addition to overseeing the illegal invasion of Libya and the murder of 30,000 people–and possibly more than 100,000 people–Clinton supported the Syrian jihadists fighting to overthrow Bashar al-Assad. She was an early advocate of supporting and arming “moderate” Syrian rebels who eventually defected to al-Nusra and the Islamic State.

Trump is not the only one criticizing Clinton for her poor record and leadership. However, most of the GOP presidential candidates seem to be more comfortable criticizing Trump than going after Clinton, a curious and troubling indication of their unwillingness to rock the political boat. Other observations about Clinton echo Trumph’s recollection of her time as Secretary of State:

“Clinton’s unwillingness to let go of the ‘regime change’ mandate in a sovereign state, coupled with a moralistic but biased outrage, suggests someone who does not respect international law and could be dangerous as U.S. president: hypocritical, prejudiced and self-righteous,” writes Rick Sterling.

“Hillary Clinton leaves her position as Secretary of State with a legacy of supporting autocratic regimes and occupation armies, opposing enforcement of international humanitarian law, undermining arms control and defending military solutions to complex political problems. She was appointed to her position following eight years in the US Senate, during which she became an outspoken supporter of the invasion and occupation of Iraq, lied about Iraq’s military capabilities to frighten the public into supporting the illegal war, unleashed repeated attacks against the United Nations, opposed restrictions on land mines and cluster bombs, defended war crimes by allied right-wing governments and largely embraced Bush’s unilateralist agenda,” Stephen Zunes wrote in 2013 when Clinton stepped down at the State Department.

Possibly, just maybe, Trump may be able to get some on the left to see Hillary Clinton for what she really is; an egotistical, angry, self serving liar. And a very, very poor diplomat and Secretary of State to boot.

Of course, Trump is refering to killing people by making bad policy decisions. Another figure, 46, represents the number of people within the Clinton Circle that have died…certainly a high number for any dead pool.
