While Gowdy famously grilled Hillary Clinton over the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi terror attacks, Rubio served as a cheerleader for the unnecessary war that lead to them in the first place. By supporting Obama’s bombing of Libya, Rubio supported the Islamists who killed Chris Stevens and the other three Americans there.
Congressman Gowdy’s support for Marco Rubio comes at a time of serious disillusionment within the Republican party. With RINOs like House Speaker Paul Ryan and his predecessor John Boehner, it is more important than ever that conservatives rally behind a candidate that will fight for them. That’s why anti-establishment candidates like Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are doing so well and establishment darlings like Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush are doing so bad.
“Gowdy will join Rubio for seven events in Iowa. He will likely officially announce his support at a campaign rally at the Pzazz! Convention and Event Center in Burlington, Iowa on Monday.
Gowdy’s announcement comes just as many grassroots conservative activists in the state have begun to coalesce around Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)’s campaign. A CBS/YouGov poll of the state earlier this month showed Cruz earning 40 percent, followed by Donald Trump at 31 percent. Rubio fell to third place with 12 percent of the vote.”
