Andrew Bolt is a smart, articulate and outspoken critic of Leftist politics and has earned a reputation of…you guessed it…racist, bigot, homophobe, xenophobe, Islamophobe, misogynist, etc., etc., etc. If you need the whole list, please refer to descriptions by NPR or Wikipedia of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Mark Steyn, Michelle Malkin, et al.
Apparently, he decided to eat at an Italian-themed restaurant and cafe outside the venue where he spoke in Melbourne, when three anti-free speech thugs decided that Bolt’s brand of the brutal truth was a bit too much for these snowflakes, and they devised a truly evil plan to surprise the columnist with a coffee laced with glitter and threw it into his face and over his suit.
Honestly? Glitter? Really? You couldn’t be a bit more…oh, I don’t know…cisgender male? Wouldn’t braiding his hair have been more in-your-face? I mean, if glitter is really your thing, then I guess we’ll just have to refer to you as the “Glitter Boyz!”
What happened next was surprising. Rather than back off and attempt to withdraw from the situation where three men are obviously intent on doing a makeover on you, Bolt lunged for the closest scrawny little Glitter Boy and grabbed him before landing a hard right to his face. The kid went down over the chairs and tables like a sack of scrapbook stencils as one of his buddies attempted to stop Bolt. However, the Conservative writer was not finished. He turned to the second and shoved him across the tables and chairs and then turned back to the Glitter Boy to finish the job. With a swift kick to the groin area, the first and the second scattered and ran off down the street, screaming soprano. The cameraman also ran off in the opposite direction, after probably forgetting to stop at the craft store for some glue sticks and scented pens.
Needless to say, three Glitter Boyz had experienced an epic fail when trying to intimidate a writer.
The columnist was outside the launch party for Steve Kates’s book “The Art of the Impossible,” which is about the 2016 election of Donald Trump.
One man is heard in the background yelling, “what are you doing?” and “go away.”
Bolt told Fairfax Media Thursday he was tired of being attacked for his conservative views and wants to see his attackers face justice.
It was a classic case of a bunch of college-aged know-nothings who thought that an old guy would be easy to bully. When it came down to it, Bolt was not such a pushover target. When he retaliated, the video of the restaurant that caught everything on tape was subsequently released and immediately went viral.
The restaurant owner and the public appeared to support Bolt as well. However, much like in this country, it won’t really matter how much the people agree with him. What will ultimately matter more will be the opinions of the talking heads in the mainstream media.
Rest assured, I intend on following this guy’s opinions in the near future. He sounds like a reasonable chap! Anybody who is willing to punch out a jerk (especially a Leftist jerk) is all right in my book. And the fact that he’s a Conservative writer…even better!
