The Pentagon is currently firing thousands of soldiers experienced in the field of battle due to mandatory spending cuts.
For example, around 2,600 captains and other officers have been told ‘take a hike’ after risking their lives for all of us a soon as they leave their posts in Afghanistan.
Obama is weakening our military in many ways. A couple of examples would be…in the past few years he’s fired 200 of our top commanders for flimsy reasons and has eliminated highly successful programs like the Tomahawk missile. While at the same time he’s hiring illegal aliens into the military that he’s firing experienced soldiers.
Why would you fire experienced soldiers and hire illegal aliens that look like they couldn’t even pass the physical exam?
No legitimate president would weaken our military under any condition.
The Pentagon is laying off thousands of military officers, including those serving or who have recently served in Afghanistan.
Defense Department officials said the reductions are the result of mandatory spending cuts imposed by sequestration and are part of their larger plan to reduce the number of U.S. soldiers from 520,000 to 450,000.
Roughly 2,600 captains and other officers have or will be laid off, with more expected, Fox News learned Friday.
The decision to send pink slips to soldiers overseas on active duty is dangerous and bad for morale, says retired Major Gen. Robert Scales.
“It puts the soldier, the soldier’s family and the men under his command at risk,” said Scales, a Fox News contributor. “Young officers look at each other and wonder who is next.”
He said the Pentagon made a similar move after the Vietnam War.
The Army said the draw-down plan “is a balanced approach that maintains readiness while trying to minimize turbulence within the officer corps.”
On Thursday, Gen. John Campbell told Congress that 1,100 soldiers, including some currently serving in Afghanistan, would receiving pink slips due to sequestration budget cuts to the Defense Department.

I feel the need to step in and say something about this. I’m on active duty serving in the Navy. The military has always hired aliens and immigrants since the very first day, it’s part of a path to citizenship many, and many of those members who receive their citizenship serve honorably until they are force retired. As far as upper enlisted being forced out, that’s a reaction to our military being extremely top heavy. Many people sprint to E6 or E7 and then stay there for 15 years and then get forced out due to High Year Tenure. This isn’t the military dumping all of it’s combat experienced vets, it’s force shaping following a policy set up years ago to deal with the large influx of military members during the War on Terror, this was the plan all along. Yes, the system is not perfect, I’ve personally watched plenty of good guys get forced out due to HYT and force shaping, but I’ve also seen MANY people get forced out for sitting at E5 for 8 years. This is not due to any one President, this wasn’t a presidential mandate, this was a plan set up by the SECDEF and the JCoS to deal with the eventual draw down of the War on Terror.
This is a great post, although most will probably ignore it. E6 is probably a great example since high year tenure would be around 20 years, where as a chief would be 24 years i think.
how about the top paid people in government also have cut backs to their salaries ……that sure would help the service needs leaders that can teach younger soldiers how to stay alive .
If you want a serviceman to perform, just tell him he is not needed any more.
We can’t afford them because of the two wars president Bush 5 us in.

Obama should fire himself, and as far as the cuts go , how dare he go on another vacation, that money he will be spending should go to our service men and woman.
Downsizing our military while other superpowers are building their militaries and armaments up. Not a good thing.
Is this true? It doesn’t sound possible to be able to fire this Soldiers without it being approved by congress.
His goal is to weaken America. He’ll replace many of these fired officers with men who agree with this agenda.
