When Kamel Fotouh from the Katy Islamic Association moved next door to Craig Baker and his 200-year-old family farm, he told Baker he should either pack up his stuff and move or at least get rid of his pigs.
It seems Fotouh also called BakerĀ a liar at a town meeting.
Baker responded by holding pig races every Friday, one of Islam’s most holy days, during their prayer time.

deport this guy.. this is america
Get the F out Fotouh. You are in OUR homeland. I will NEVER give up a damned thing because of somebody’s backwards cult-like religion.
Should also allow part of his land as an open dog park when the pigs aren’t running free!
Good
If Mr. Fatouh’s request is true, he is an idiot. He needs to study our constitution and understand the reason he came to this country in the first place. He is not living under an oligarchic or autocratic government but a democracy where all people have equal rights which are protected by our constitution. That’s what’s protecting him from being run out of town by his neighbors. On a side note, pig races are one of America’s favorite past times. They bring people and communities together so they get to know one another and have a greater appreciation for their similarities as well as their differences. Perhaps Mr. Fatouh should make amends by encouraging his congregation to attend one of these events after jummah prayers. Who knows, perhaps they will find that they have more in common than not.
Love it!!!
Obviously done of you have ever lived or been near a pig farm. The stench is SO BAD, words just cannot describe it. The runoff can completely poison groundwater. I’m surprised *anyone* would move next to a pig farm, let alone an observant Muslim.
But, as this is a Fox News story, looking up more information is probably a good idea. In this case, my 20 second search on “the google machine” filled some blanks in.
For example, these neighbors originally got along just fine. Kamel Fotouh actually bought the land to build a Mosque, which was a *super* popular idea in a small Texas town full of *totally* tolerant, nice people, who *totally* didn’t immediately begin acting like ignorant racists.
But originally the pig rancher (who actually runs a marble business, not a pig farm, just an FYI) donated marble to the mosque for their drive, and offered to move some cattle to the other side of his pasture, so it wouldn’t be a distraction. Nice guy, right?
Here’s where it breaks down. The pig-farmer (actually a Marble seller) claims that Kamel Fotouh suggested he move altogether. Kamel Fotouh denies ever suggesting this, saying “Why would I do that? It makes no sense, he lives there.” This conflict damaged the relationship between the neighbors to such a degree that when Kamel Fotouh sent the pig-farm (aka: marble seller) a crystal clock as a thank you gift, the marble-farmer sent it back. But things died down, and everyone moved on.
Until some local yokel brought it up in a town hall meeting. Specifically, the yokel said that the marble-farmer told everyone Kamel Fotouh demanded he move. So Kamel Fotouh responded “That’s a lie.” Kamel Fotouh also says he never said that, or called anyone a liar, but he’s just some brown guy, so who cares what he says, right?
So the marble-farmer decided to install pigs, and race them during prayer times, right beside where the properties meet because someone said that somebody said a mean thing about someone and lah lah lah this guy is a high school girl.
Seems to me both people have some maturity issues! Sad
Like this man.
Mary: No, they had a simple misunderstanding, one of them (the marble-farmer) acted kind of assy (which he later sort of admitted) and everyone that read and forwarded the story has maturity issues.
