Teen Calls School With Bomb Threat Saying He Wants To Join ISIS

A sophomore from North Carolina said he wanted to join ISIS after threatening to blow up his high school.

After white teenager Paul Warner, 16, made his bomb threat in a classroom on the morning of January 8, Northwest Cabarrus High School in Kannapolis, North Carolina was evacuated, local police reported.

Officials told WSOC-TV in Charlotte that the teen also claimed he tried to join ISIS and that he was found carrying two knives when detained.

There were additional charges for the teenager, though. On Monday authorities also charged Warner on two counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Likely it is this sexual charge that precipitated his bomb threat outburst.

What does it say about this country when ISIS has gone so unchecked that a North Carolina teenager can claim he wanted to join the organization in some twisted desire to appear fearsome? Petulant teens make all kinds of claims to being real threats to make themselves feel powerful, but to claim to want to join ISIS is a whole new level of insidiousness.

Unless Obama does something to show that Americans do no tolerate terrorists, expect to hear such claims more and more. And don’t expect Obama to do anything new about ISIS,  either.

Hurry up, Trump!
