The clock is ticking as we inch closer and closer to the day the federal government is set to turn over control of the Internet to an international body.
Needless to say, the move isn’t exactly going over with Americans. Republican lawmakers have taken a stand and are attempting to stop the transfer, noting that it effectively empowers special interests and tyrannical regimes to censor the web as they see fit. After all, surely Americans haven’t been doing that bad of a job of managing the Internet that we need global entities to take over and do the job themselves.
But President Obama sure thinks so, and he’s far from the only one. Panicking over the chance that Congress will halt the move, tech giants like Facebook, Google and Twitter have urged them to abandon their plans and let the transfer go as scheduled on October 1st.

My$#%&!@* All that will happen if iccan is given to the UN is censorship
by then trump will be in the white house and we won’t have to listen to obama or hillary trying to destroy our country anymore
Hell to the NO!
We don’t want more government controls. NO globalization of the world. We want our constitution and the bill of rights up held. Quit giving our freedoms away.
Totally absurd. That’s not how to keep the internet open; it just gives total shut down control to a global elitist entity. The way to keep it open for everyone is freedom. Free market competition will keep it available.
Screw that
Oh we should listen to them, right? I mean what could go wrong, right? I mean, after all, the insurance companies urged, supported ObamaCare and most of them now have pulled out, saying it was bankrupting them.
No
Well if tech companies want this… let them move to another country. The internet doesn’t belong to THEM either.
So who is the “global community”, do tell. How bout no. Anyone know what the internet speed is anywhere else? I’ve read its painfully slow and highly censored in other countries. Countries where you are now arrested for conveying any opinion or comment against or negative to islam or muslims. No thanks!
