Now that Donald Trump has the Republican nomination in the bag, he’s wasting no time pivoting his attacks toward the Clintons. And boy, he really isn’t holding back.
The Clinton campaign says Donald Trump is lashing out like a wounded animal, after he described former president Bill Clinton as a rapist.
“Trump is doing what he does best, attacking when he feels wounded and dragging the American people through the mud for his own gain,” said Clinton campaign press secretary Nick Merrill. “If that’s the kind of campaign he wants to run that’s his choice.”
Already, the Clintons are falling into the same trap that Trump’s Republican challengers did at the beginning of the nominating process. Trump doesn’t attack from a position of weakness, he attacks from a position of strength.
If the Clinton’s took a look at their current standing in the general election, they’d understand that. The only wounded politician in this fight is Hillary Clinton, and she’s got to make up lost ground, fast.
