SWAT Team Busts Alabama Man Threatening ‘Killing Spree’ On Facebook

The good thing is, no one was hurt in the incident, although given Montgomery’s history, one can understand why the police reacted so strongly. As AL.com reports:

“Alabaster police Chief Curtis Rigney said the suspect will be brought from Chilton County to Shelby County. He has been arrested on a charge of making a terrorist threat, and investigators will obtain formal warrants against him tomorrow. Birmingham police said the investigation on their end is also still ongoing.

‘We take this stuff extremely serious. In today’s world you have to,’ Rigney said. ‘Chilton County was able to locate him at his residence. We’re going to take possession of him and bring him back to Alabaster. You can’t wait on those things. Our company was going to open at 3 so we needed to move on this quickly.’

Court records show Montgomery is no stranger to lawmen. He filed a claim earlier this year against several individuals claiming his 1989 Jaguar was stolen and wrongly scrapped without proof of ownership. He asked for compensation from those individuals and put some blame with Clanton police as well. ‘I’m asking for $5,000, not to be frivolous, but for compensation and punitive damages for being bias and failing to follow their obligation in providing me justice as a citizen and resident of Childton County,’ he said in his handwritten claim.

He pleaded guilty to felony criminal mischief last year for causing more than $2,500 in damages to a woman’s 2000 Nissan Altima. He received a suspended 36-month sentence in that case.

In 2005, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence after an altercation with his mother at their home. Court records say police arrived to find the house ‘completely destroyed’ after the mother reprimanded her son for not cleaning his bathroom. He pushed her and caused injury to her wrist. He received a 30-day suspended sentence in that case.”

A real bad apple, from the looks of it. No wonder they sent in the SWAT team.
