Parent claim that subliminal Islamic messaging, in the form of a geography lesson, took place at Riverheads High School in Augusta County, Virginia this week. The students were given what the district described as an art project, an assignment to write, “There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah” in Arabic calligraphy.
Girls in the class were invited to dress in the Muslim style as well.
Parents were, of course, outraged at the assignment and on December 11th, met with the school district. The district saw no issue in the World Geography lesson saying, “There was no (sic) attempt at indoctrination to Islam or any other religion, or a request for students to renounce their own faith or profess any belief.”
Yet this statement is suspect, as there could have been so many other statements to practice artistic Arabic calligraphy and the educators specifically chose the shahada, the Muslim statement of faith.

If the intent wasn’t to indoctrinate (whether it did or not), then they should have been writing something else!!! If they had been told to write: “There is no other way to heaven but by salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord”, would you find that acceptable? I highly doubt it; therefore, this should not be either. And either one could be used as part of a “geography” lesson!
Jo if you are afraid for words…the terrorists win haha.
Corey as an atheist I don’t think any religion should be taught in public schools. However, I don’t see this as an attempt to teach religion. When you say that islam cannot coexist with our constitution….then how have all those muslim american abided by the constitution without incident…some even becoming cops, lawyers and judges to enforce that same constitution. Again you seem to be suggesting that only christians are capable of cherry-picking their holy book. I don’t understand why you think that?
Fire everyone involved. Trying to force islam like a cult
Sorry Muhammed Tuhin. There is no other God but God the Father, who sent His one and only Son that all who believe on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Do any of these “schools” allow christian prayers or symbols in class or on students attire…I’m betting not..how about Christmas religious displays?…Nope.? Then your school and school board has been hijacked by islam and minions of islam.
PARENTS=HOME SCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN=NOW!!! Then these “teachers” + “School Boards” will be OUT Of JOBS!!!
Allah was a$#%&!@*was he not ?.
Thank you well said copy & paste going on here
@Don. Either they aren’t true Muslims, or they are infiltrating. Their “holy” book commands them to live in a way contrary to the Constitution, as well as encouraging them to lie. Based on your previous comments, I’m pretty sure you have the intelligence to figure it out.
I’m not suggesting that. Like I said look up Taqiyyah. And as a Christian, even though I’m not a bible thumper or a person who goes to church on a regular basis I don’t think any religion should be taught in schools. Religion should be taught in churches. I just don’t think teachers are qualified to instruct religion. I speak from experience and someone that has spent 2+ years in a Muslim country. I promise you what they want you to know and believe is not who they really are
