In an interview on NBC, filmaker Spike Lee claimed that Americans don’t care about the massive amounts of gun violence because its “not Sandy Hook.”
While Spike Lee attempts to spin Americans’ lack of interest in Chicago by insinuating that no one cares because those who are dying aren’t innocent, young, white, schoolchildren, he’s totally ignoring those who are ignoring the violence in Chicago.
While most of America is pointing toward Chicago as proof that gun-free zones don’t work, those who are outright ignoring the city is none other than Black Lives Matter.
The reason for this is obvious. When it comes to Black Lives Matter, black lives only matter when they are killed by white Americans. Because such a huge percentage of Chicago’s murders are black on black crime, Black Lives Matter doesn’t seem to care.

Spike Lee you are talking about your brothers and sisters. The only time the blacks start protesting and violence is when a black is killed by a white. All the black on black killings in Chicago is a major problem or Chicago. The world sees exactly how much the black communities in Chicago really care. As a legal taxpaying American citizen, you are absolutely right, I don’t care about Chicago’s gun violence. I did not start it, participating in it, and I definitely cannot stop it. You on the other hand mr. Lee, can do something about stopping it. So start doing your part or shut up.

Spike you’re entitled to your opinion…., but don’t presume that you have the right to speak for me or the people of this country….! What’s going on in Chicago isn’t racial…., it’s Black on Black for the most part….! The world they live in is the world they created…., change is only possible when the people themselves want change….. It’s obvious that’s not the case in those area’s of Chicgo where most of the gun violence occurs….. It’s the lifestyle they’ve decided to accept….. You don’t have to be rich to show respect, be courteous, and not shoot each other….!
