In Shocking Move, Feinstein Calls For Investigation Into Loretta Lynch

Feinstein made her eyebrow-raising declaration in an interview with Briana Keilar yesterday on CNN’s State of the Union.

I think we need to know more about that, and there’s only one way to know about it and that’s to have the Judiciary Committee take a look at that.”

In his testimony last Thursday before the Senate Intelligence Committee, the dismissed FBI director noted that Lynch’s directive for him to call the Clinton probe a “matter” left him with a “queasy” feeling. He told the committee he believed the use of the term “matter” instead of “investigation” would match the wording used by the Clinton campaign to downplay the investigation.

Candidate Hillary Clinton also referred to the probe as a “security review,” which is laughable because the FBI doesn’t do “security reviews.” It only does criminal investigations.

Knowing that difference clearly leaves Feinstein in an uncomfortable place.

I would have a queasy feeling, too, though, to be candid with you,” the longtime Senate Democrat said. She added that an investigation separate from the ongoing probe into Russian interference in the election is needed. “I don’t think we should mix the two.”

Not totally discarding her partisan hat, Feinstein declined to draw a conclusion on whether President Trump’s interactions with Comey represent an obstruction of justice.

I don’t know whether it’s obstruction of justice. I don’t intend to draw any conclusions until investigations are finished.”

Legal experts appear divided on whether or not Trump crossed the line in discussing the Michael Flynn investigation with Comey. That divide appears to split along partisan lines for the most part, although unabashedly liberal law professor Alan Dershowitz has been adamant in his contention that no obstruction of justice was involved.

President Trump has indicated a willingness to testify about his conversations with Comey while the former FBI chief has been unable to produce a copy of the memo he claims to have drafted and provided to a law professor friend to leak to The New York Times.

Daniel Richman, Comey’s partner in leaking and a Columbia University law professor, has dropped out of sight and not been able to provide a copy of the memo he allegedly read to the Times reporter.
