A sheriff in Pinellas County, Florida has a warning for anyone willing to come near him with a gun, he’s threatening them with his own.
The locally known anti-gun cop made the statements in response to open carry legislation being floated in his city. It attempts to make arming law abiding citizens easier, so that they can better defend themselves should they find their lives at risk.
How ironic that a man who fears for his own life in the presence of lawful gun ownership should resort to the very thing that he opposes — a gun — in order to protect himself.
It’s unlikely the cop thought of that before he threatened to kill the very citizens he’s employed to protect.
Cops have been put in a bad light recently for shooting at criminals when they think that their lives are in danger. It has been proven time and time again that their actions are reasonable and legal in a court of law. This man, however, may be the face of what a bad cop looks like: one who openly tries to take a citizen’s gun by threatening to use his own.

When I went into law enforcement 30 years ago, I had to be sworn in with an oath of office to stand for the rights of the Constitution of the United States of America and to serve and protect the citizens in an unbiased way no matter what color or background, I still have this responsibility, I am here to help and not to hurt. I have locked men and women up over these 30 years always treated every one the same, if you want respect you have to give respect those dealt with on a daily basis repeat offenders still should be given the respect that we ourselves expect, I have served these man years living and adhearing to Gods Word, “if you live by the sword you’ll die by the sword” Romans 13 explains our responsibility as officers and also explains the responsibility to thsoe who break the law, another thing I have always tried to remember, is where would I be if it wasn’t for my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I have always asked Him before every call to see those who are breaking the law as He seen them with the Love and Compassion that took Him to Calvary, Lord may you always let me see others through your eyes.
This Sheriff is causing a lot of trouble for himself, he is very wrong concerning this matter, I had rather have a good law abiding citizen carrying that would have my back if the need arises, he should step down from his position and r resign a man with this kind of mentality is unfit for the office he holds, there is no room for cowards or bullies in this profession, his statement just proves he is cared of his job and the people he is sworn to protect, all I can say if you try that here it will not work or be tolerated and you will not like the outcome, I believe in my second ammendment right and will not waver.
