Repealing the Second Amendment would seemingly be an impossible task. But the left will not so easily give up.
But if the Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges teaches us anything, it’s that the age of judicial supremacy means that five justices can amend the Constitution far more efficiently than Congress and the state legislatures. And right now there are clearly four Supreme Court justices who are committed to the absurd view that the operative clause of the Second Amendment — “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” — doesn’t actually mean “the right of the people” and therefore doesn’t encompass an individual right to own a weapon, even for self-defense. More of this theory on the next page:
Molon labe
Imagine that 9 idiots think they will take the rights of 310 million people…it won’t be hard for 9 idiots to swing at the end of a rope for treason either…the powers that be want a democracy they may just get one…
and 300,000,000 guns
Heller v DC says that the Second Amendment derives from the rights of English subjects. By that standard, the right to own guns can be rather strictly controlled as they are in England.
Congratulations Kaitlin!!! You have just combined a whole bunch of talking point that have no basis in reality. He is using laws that every other president since Washington has used. He is not a Muslim and goes to a regular church and is just like you except he doesn’t live in a world of hatred
congrats Ron, you have been blinded by idiocy, neither the president, nor the SCOTUS, nor the congress has the power to repeal the 2nd amendment, it must go through the amendment process, which means it must be voted on and approved by the people and the states…ANY other method is unconstitutional…
SCOTUS cannot repeal law: Amending the US Constitution is a US Congress legislative act; Charter define powers & functions.
Hopefully we are one person closer in this country to understanding what the 2nd Amendment says. It does not say that any person is entitled to carry a gun anywhere at any time. it absolutely does not in any way say that. It does say “well regulated” and provides for what we now call the National Guard which is under control of your Governor and not the Federal government.
Timothy, you clearly do not understand what the definition of “Well Regulated” meant in 1787 when the The US Constitution was implemented. Please see the following link which contains a thorough explanation and contains the correct definition to The 2nd Amendment Of The US Constitution. http://www.lectlaw.com/files/gun01.htm
You want a revolt and revolution in this country go ahead and vote. The blood will be one your hands.
They know they will have an easier time changing what the meaning of the Second Amendment is as compared to just trying to get rid of it all. That’s why the whole discussion has come up on what the meaning of bearing arms. They are trying to say it was meant for muskets in that timed it was written.
