Sarah Silverman Mistakes Construction Markers for Swastikas

Sarah Silverman, actress and comedian, decided to go after a joke, not knowing that she was about to make herself look like an idiot. Not only did she succeed in doing that, but the Internet took noticed and fired back.

Comedian Sarah Silverman got an earful from her social media followers on Sunday after appearing to mistake a pair of bright orange construction markings for swastikas painted by neo-Nazis.

The 46-year-old comedian wrote that she was on her way to get coffee when she noticed the markings on the sidewalk.

“Walking to get coffee saw these all over a sidewalk in the town I’m in. Is this an attempt at swastikas? Do neo nazis not have google?” she wrote.

Of course, Silverman’s followers were quick to point out that the markings were, in fact, innocuous markings used in construction, often to designate a spot for which there is a pipe or a wire underneath.

If you have a moment, I would recommend checking out her Twitter feed. Some of the comments are actually quite hilarious. Then, in attempt to rectify the situation, Silverman tried to justify her comments using hate and non-existent political knowledge, while encouraging the country to turn on Donald Trump. Her idiocy is funny, but it’s also sad. Why do celebrities have to get involved in politics? The worst part about Silverman is that she was actually kind of funny before she became a loud mouth “activist.”
