Sanders Loses Grip When Confronted About His Millionaire Status, Miniscule Charitable Contributions

$10,600 in charitable contributions in 2016.

That’s less than 1% for new millionaire Bernie Sanders, the self-avowed Democratic-socialist from Vermont who gives far, far less than those who practice their capitalism with pride.

Sanders really lost it for a second during a Fox News town hall when Bret  Bair confronted him about accepting tax breaks that he voted against – asking him why he doesn’t send the money back.

Great question. It would serve as an example for other wealthy millionaires and billionaires who are just dying to give his system a try. Not to mention as an example of how democratic socialism really is charitable at heart.

Fox News host Bret Baier first pressed Sanders on the issue, to which Sanders responded: “Pfft…come on…I am, I paid the taxes that I owe…why don’t you get Donald Trump up here and ask him how much he pays in taxes.”

A few moments later, Fox News host Martha MacCallum pressed Sanders again on the issue, asking: “So would you be willing to pay 52% on the money that you made? You can volunteer, you can send it back.”

“You can volunteer too,” Sanders responded. “Martha, why don’t you give? You make more money than I do.”

“I didn’t suggest a wealth tax,” MacCallum replied.

“And she’s not running for president,” Baier added.

The self-avowed Democratic-socialist purchased his third ome in 2016 — a $575,000 lake-front property in Vermont, according to Fox News.

The following year, Sanders donated $36,300 of his adjusted gross income of $1,131,925 to charity.
