For Americans who support law enforcement and trust them to safeguard both their liberties and their well-being, it is disheartening to hear officers say that the way to protect the latter is by curtailing the former.
San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia is one such officer, as he revealed in an interview with San Jose Inside. Asked about the topics of the day, Garcia not only expressed support for the controversial Black Lives Matter movement, but also voiced opposition to laws allowing Americans to own firearms for their protection.
As one might be wont to point out, a majority of law enforcement officers believe that Americans should retain the right to bear arms, meaning that Garcia is clearly in the minority on the issue. However, his position as chief of police for the 10th largest city in the country means that his opinion will carry weight among the uninformed and be cited by liberals as support for their anti-gun agenda.

Maybe he should focus on the officers under him who are illegally selling guns which are turning up at crime scenes. The problem is so bad in California that the BATF sent a warning out to the Attorney General and all police chiefs.
Need criminal control also, way to many of those on the street too.

OK. You have to remember something, when you are in his position, you are no longer a police officer. You are a politician. Nothing more. And like every other left wing political hack he has decided to ignore his oath of office and trash the constitution. I am sure that in line with his own left wing agenda, he is all for sanctuary cities/state policy to ignore federal law and refuse to support federal officers in the performance of their duties. It is to bad that assholes like this can’t be voted out of office. But you can vote out his boss. The guy that probably appointed him to his position. The mayor of San Jose. Vote out the various city council members that support him and replace them all with someone who supports and defends the constitution and who has conservative values and a respect for the rule of law.
