For Americans who support law enforcement and trust them to safeguard both their liberties and their well-being, it is disheartening to hear officers say that the way to protect the latter is by curtailing the former.
San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia is one such officer, as he revealed in an interview with San Jose Inside. Asked about the topics of the day, Garcia not only expressed support for the controversial Black Lives Matter movement, but also voiced opposition to laws allowing Americans to own firearms for their protection.
As one might be wont to point out, a majority of law enforcement officers believe that Americans should retain the right to bear arms, meaning that Garcia is clearly in the minority on the issue. However, his position as chief of police for the 10th largest city in the country means that his opinion will carry weight among the uninformed and be cited by liberals as support for their anti-gun agenda.

This guy is a joke… I live in the middle of BFE where there is usually one officer out of four total on duty each day in my town. If I have some one breaking into my home and that officer is already dealing with another issue at the same time it could take him a long time to get to my house. I could be dead in 5 seconds or less, so, I will defend my home and my children. AND!!! When the officer arrives I WILL!! comply with his orders and let him do his job. I know that I will forever be scarred by having to take a life but I can live with that to ensure my children are safe. And further more there are things in the woods that I fear more than men. I carry a high caliber revolver when I am in the woods for that reason. Guns have multiple uses for me. If I am stripped of my guns I cant do the things I want to and have the means to protect myself and my family from those dangers. I doubt a cop will be there next to me in the woods with no cell service just to drop a 800lb brown bear for me that’s pissed and coming to$#%&!@*me up…. this cop is pretty narrow minded.
