For Americans who support law enforcement and trust them to safeguard both their liberties and their well-being, it is disheartening to hear officers say that the way to protect the latter is by curtailing the former.
San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia is one such officer, as he revealed in an interview with San Jose Inside. Asked about the topics of the day, Garcia not only expressed support for the controversial Black Lives Matter movement, but also voiced opposition to laws allowing Americans to own firearms for their protection.
As one might be wont to point out, a majority of law enforcement officers believe that Americans should retain the right to bear arms, meaning that Garcia is clearly in the minority on the issue. However, his position as chief of police for the 10th largest city in the country means that his opinion will carry weight among the uninformed and be cited by liberals as support for their anti-gun agenda.

Odd, since 99.5% of gun crimes are committed by persons illegally in possession of the forearm, and 70% fo violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders, its not hard to figure out how to dramatically reduce crime. When someone commits a violent crime or uses a gun or anything that could kill ( even a baseball bat ), sentence them to 30 years+ with no chance to get out ( the word gets out on the street quickly ) and 12 hour days of hard labor for six days a week, these crimes will dramatically decline !!

That whole “our founding fathers never imagined what modern weaponry would look like” argument against citizens owning semi-automatic weapons just pisses me off.
The framers of the Bill of Rights wanted to be sure that Tyranny from the Government could never occur, and to safeguard against it, allow free citizens the right to possess arms of equivalent technology.
Yes, citizens of the 18th century only had flintlock, smooth bore muskets. But that’s all the military had as well. Well they also had cannons, but it wasn’t reasonable to assume the average citizen could afford or operate a cannon by themselves. But it’s clear the intent was that citizens be able to stand up against a tyranical government using equivalent technology.
So when libtards make claims against the 2nd Amendment based on weapon technology, I just shake my head in disappointment.
This Chief of Police is an insul to Law Enforcement. No wonder San Jose and San Francisco are starting to see their violent crime levels skyrocket.
