San Bernardino Shooting Shows the High Cost of Political Correctness

Political Correctness Stifles Reporting

A CBS Los Angeles report was released about a police raid on the San Bernardiono killer Syed Farook’s home;
A man who has been working in the area said he noticed a half-dozen Middle Eastern men in the area in recent weeks, but decided not to report anything since he did not wish to racially profile those people. “We sat around lunch thinking, ‘What were they doing around the neighborhood?’” he said. “We’d see them leave where (the police) they’re raiding the apartment.”
And so in spite of suspicions that something was amiss at the Farook home, the neighbor reported nothing in order to avoid being labeled a racist or worse. While it is possible that reporting suspicious activity will lead to nothing, it could also be the key to stopping a horrendous crime.
But in this day and age, reporting such behavior, especially if those reported on are a “special” protected class such as Middle Easterners, can lead to social media denunciations of Islamophobia and worse along with potential million dollar lawsuits. The Left is so concerned that someone may have their feelings hurt or that a charge may prove to be false that they are willing to enforce political correctness to the extreme, which means they will accept the possibility of horrific bloodshed in order to prevent someone from raising a concern about another individual.
It is time for increased vigilance, and for Americans to do the right thing and speak up if they feel so moved. And who knows, they may even help save the life of a Liberal, who could very well end up suing them for hurting the feelings of a mass murderer.
