At least one supposed “conservative” is showing his true colors in the war against Trump, and he’s taking his message to the skies.
It turns out that the millionaire GOP establishment donor who bankrolled the anti-Donald Trump skywriting at the Rose Bowl parade on New Year’s Day isn’t just any ordinary donor-class millionaire. He’s backing Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) ,the man who is emerging as the anti-conservative establishment and donor-class candidate for president in 2016.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Luther Stan Pate IV—an Alabama real estate developer worth millions—has donated thousands of dollars to Rubio’s electoral efforts.
On Jan. 29, 2015, Pate donated $5,200 to Rubio—who, at the time, hadn’t yet officially launched a presidential campaign but was acting as if he were running for president.
Don’t be fooled into thinking his Republican donations are a signal that he’s a devout conservative, though, as he’s publically supported Hillary Clinton when faced with a Trump/Clinton faceoff.
“I’m tired of listening to Trump, I’m tired of it – just look at what he did to Megyn (Kelly) that’s just despicable,” he said. “Listen to how he’s attacking Hillary Clinton – despicable.”
He also stated that he would support Hillary Clinton if Trump won the nomination.
If one wants to win over the conservative votes, backing Hillary is hardly the way to do it. Regardless, these are the kinds of people backing the establishment candidates in this years’ presidential election.
so basically Rubio’s saying that if Trump should gain the nomination that he’d rather have Hillary as Prez. Hmmmm. That speaks volumes to me. No wonder Rubio has such LOW poll percentages.
