The Obama administration is determined to tighten gun regulations and background checks, and to add hundreds or thousands of veterans to a list that will prevent them from buying guns for sport, personal protection, or simply for pleasure because “guns are dangerous and can fall into the hands of criminals and terrorists.” At least that is the purported aim. Many of these people will lose their Constitutional right to own a firearm without any due process. And the real secret is the long term objective, which is to confiscate all guns from law abiding citizens, whether that takes months or years.
The irony is that while the Obama administration has been working overtime to take guns away from any number of Americans (and we are talking tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands), the Justice Department, under the direction of Attorney Eric Holder, launched a program called Fast and Furious early in Obama’s first term that placed thousands of guns in the hands of criminals, including exceedingly violent gang members, with the purported purpose of “tracking” them to Mexican drug lords, thus allowing Mexican and U.S. police to arrest and incarcerate these criminals. The end result, however, was that the Justice Department lost track of virtually all of the weapons, with a few notable exceptions.
So while Obama is doing everything possible to take guns away from law-abiding citizens, he was handing hundreds of high-powered weapons to criminals and other bad guys.
How does that make sense?
See where Fast and Furious weapons ended up, page 2:
As for the Constitution and Bill of Rights, we put restrictions on every single right – why not the second amendment? Why is it sacred above all others with no restrictions allowed? Freedom of speech – you don’t have the right to yell fire in a theater or crowded venue. You don’t have the right to threaten harm to others or to talk about bombs or terrorism in an airport. You can get sued for slander and libel. Those are all restrictions on free speech. On freedom of religion there are restrictions. You can’t force your religion on others. If your religion causes physical harm or death to another you can be arrested. You can’t combine religion with politics or government business. You can’t “preach” your religion in public schools or display religious symbols on gov’t property. Separation of church and state is still upheld – so that is a restriction on that right. Restrictions on dangerous firearms only make common sense – and are not unconstitutional.
How are these two not in jail?
You said fully/semi automatics weren’t dreamed of at the time the second was created so they aren’t covered. I showed you were they were. Using your logic, they must be covered. Since they are covered, keeping and bearing them cannot be infringed on.
Doesn’t surprise me one bit.
Go fucking figure… Isis would have sling shots if it wasn’t for Obama!
OMG. Just go get cannons and bombs and missiles, also. Defend yourself with those along with your assault rifles. Join the military or police force if you’re so in love with your killing machines! I can only hope that day reason will prevail, although as dumb and uneducated and entitled as our country is becoming, I think that’s a fantasy.
And all this because a headline doesn’t match the story. Some people are really low intelligence
I think Kroger has a special on aluminum foil this week. You need a new hat
I’m very conservative, I was a infantry officer in the army and I did a tour in Iraq and as much as I enjoy shooting the m4, I do not believe civilians need them to defend themselves from the government. A 30 caliber bolt action rifle will keep you alive much longer because you don’t want to go toe to toe with the military.
