The brilliant and ever-imposing Conservative figure of Andrew C. McCarthy has once again reiterated a truth that many people appear to be getting wrong…as usual.
News has recently broken regarding the “revelation” that James Comey, former Director of the FBI, had already had in his mind the intentions of giving Hillary Clinton a get-out-of-jail-free card when it came to the email scandal investigation because of a draft letter that has come to light. The letter was a version of the statement that Comey would ultimately give to Congress when he made it clear that Hillary Clinton had, in fact, broken the trust of the American people and had been “extremely careless” when it came to handling information of national interest and high security by using an unsecured home-brew email server and not a government-supplied apparatus.
The letter (which has come to light) was actually written in April of 2016, a full month BEFORE the statement by Comey was ever made. This has caused many on the Right to be outraged about Comey’s “the-fix-is-in” attitude and was a blatant attempt to exonerate Hillary before a single witness had been heard (including Clinton herself) and before any of the emails had been viewed (because they were withheld and the equipment upon which they sat destroyed!).
McCarthy is perplexed. Why are the Trump administration and the entire Right-wing making such a stink about Comey having written these notes about his upcoming statement before the investigation had even begun, when the words from that letter…CAME DIRECTLY FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PRESIDENT?
