Rapper Rips Up American Flag Over Confederate Heritage Month

Controversial rapper Genesis Be draped her body in a Confederate flag and her neck in a noose to demonstrate her ire at the Mississippi Confederate Heritage month.  Provoking her fans to destroy the American flag at a show in New York on April 26th, Genesis made her point in a graphic and misguided manner.

According to Clay Chandler, a spokesman for Mississippi’s Governor Bryant,

“Like his predecessors—both Republican and Democrat—who issued similar proclamations, Gov. Bryant believes Mississippi’s history deserves study and reflection, no matter how unpleasant or complicated parts of it may be. Like the proclamation says, gaining insight from our mistakes and successes will help us move forward.”

Gov. Bryant has defended the decision to proclaim April as Confederate Heritage Month, explaining that the move is an attempt to “earnestly strive to understand our heritage.”

Genesis Be claims she received threatening phone calls after her performance and it is no wonder with her brazen anti-American demonstration at the show.  To display hate for the flag and not expect backlash is foolish.

Genesis also pulled her BLM card in a tweet saying:

#Mississippi Gov. @PhilBryantMS “Black Lives Don’t Matter” declares April Confederate Heritage Month #retweet

“I’m fighting for the integrity of my ancestors, honestly,” the rapper said. “The people who were oppressed, enslaved, raped under that banner.”

This generation utterly misses the fact that without understanding one’s heritage, one will repeat the past by not knowing the warning signs.  They would rather remove the terrible history of slavery than intellectually deal with it.  Out of sight out of mind, except for reparations, please.
