Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

Wow, the ignorance here is astounding! How many of you have had to do CQB (Close Quarters Battle) or Room Clearance? It’s not a pleasant experience without the right tools. It’s been said that the loudest sound on the battlefield is the click your weapon makes when it misfires or is out of bullets. Granted not all Peace Officers participate in these activities, but for those that do, having the tools they need to stay safe is paramount, especially I ally when most of the tools are meant to incapacitate rather than kill. This article makes me question Rand Paul’s knowledge on the subject…

This is wrong American Police even Swat teams are not trained with Bayonets or even Crowd Control Demonstration purposes. This was at least from 1968 to 2000 . Police Academy and other Sworn Law Enforcement Academy’s. This is not normal techniques. So are they rewriting Training manuals now to incorporate this nation wide then now? Then States will need to rewrite use of Force reports to the State and Federal DOJ Statistics.
