Rand Paul is completely correct, of course, that there is no need for bayonets in local law enforcement. Bayonets are for hand-to-hand combat in battle and the only purpose is to kill.

I think we are looking at this the wrong way. Hypothetically, if the federal government over steps its bounds where do you think local law enforcement will side? Law enforcement is not at war with the people nor will it ever be.
It’s apparent that no one remembers the situation out in LA when the police were out gunned by two thugs with Body armor and Illegal automatic weapons. Think about that if it were your Father, Brother, Son or someone else that put’s their life on the line everyday for us.
